The brand works when everything works

Ilosaarirock is guided by one thought: the best weekend of the summer. It's the weekend when you see friends, let loose, and embrace all the experiences music can bring. It’s a weekend when everything just works. The people who make the best weekend of the summer – the workers, volunteers, and artists – ensure that. Even the sun has been harnessed for the brand's use – it seems to always shine.

A familiar thing for many

Ilosaarirock has been organized continuously since 1971 by the nonprofit live music association, Joensuun Popmuusikot. It was born out of a love for music, a desire to make the local environment better, and a passion to provide a stage for those who believe in doing their own thing. These values have propelled the festival forward year after year. Today, Ilosaarirock is one of the largest music festivals in Finland and one of the oldest in Europe. It's also one of the most well-known and respected brands in the region, with an impact of about 14 million euros on the Joensuu area.

Ilosaarirock's visuals belongs to everyone!

The basic elements of the Ilosaarirock's appearance, created in 2013, lay a solid foundation that allows for the creation of something new, timely, and exhilarating every year. The visual identity of Ilosaarirock extends from communication directly to the festival site, crafted by the festival's creators and worn by the festival-goers. The event is splendidly visible in the social media of thousands of festival attendees and in items like shirts, caps, beanies, bags, mugs, towels, and all kinds of other nice merchandise even after the festival.
